What durometer is best for you?
Since 1995, AWR Racing has been producing top-of-the-line Miata mounts. Their motor mounts utilize larger bushings to reduce NVH, specifically cabin vibration. Here's a breakdown of their durometer options and their recommended usage:
- 62 durometer (ultra soft) for daily driving with little to no modifications
- 70 durometer (soft) for lightly to intermediate modification levels
- 88 durometer (medium) for modified street and track builds
- 95 durometer (hard) for highly modified/extreme builds
If your first option doesn't suit your needs, don't worry! All of their bushings can be swapped out or replaced. Keep in mind that initial NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) may be present but will settle after approximately 500 miles driven.
Application:
Engine mount kit for the 1990-1993 NA 1.6 Mazda Miata.
